Cut Water Usage Now to Save on Sewer Rates for 2020
Posted November 14, 2019

Don't forget that each year's sewer rates for your home are based on your total water usage in the December, January and February bills. To minimize your sewer rate for next year, be sure to conserve water as much as possible during this time period. Consider watering your lawn in late November then cutting back on outdoor watering in December - February to help with 2020 bills.

Note that meters may be read a few days before the end of the month so keep that in mind when you begin to conserve.

Fill A Child's Christmas Wish
Posted September 23, 2019

Each year Hill County Child Protective Services Board of Directors makes sure every child in foster care under Hill County Child Protective Services supervision receives a wonderful Christmas filled with gifts from their Wish Lists. The number of children served under this program runs between 75-100.

You have the opportunity to be a part of this program by sponsoring a child (or children) this year. You may wish to be given the Wish List of a child and enjoy filling a Christmas Dream yourself, or you may choose to let board members do the shopping for you.

Many of the children in care have never really experienced the joy of the season and it is hoped that they will feel loved and worthy this year. The CPS board's goal is always to help the children in foster care be "normal" kids, and having a wonderful Christmas seems like a very "normal" part of what childhood should be like.

Free Pancake Brunch Hosted by WBVFD
Posted January 31, 2019

Saturday, Feb 9, 10 am - Noon

Stop by the fire station and enjoy some delicious pancakes and sausage prepared by the men and women who make up the White Bluff Volunteer Fire Department .  This event is sponsored by Hill County Emergency Service District 1.

Our firemen do so much more than protect you by putting out fires.  Several are trained in advanced medical first aid.  You may have seen our firemen around our neighborhood taking out the fire department boat to help stranded boaters on the lake, helping a mother and daughter who were visiting our marina unlock their car on a 100 degree day, or helping a resident get up after falling.  These are a few stories that a lot of residents do not hear about but makes our fire department so valuable to our community.

Although we are very blessed that WB has many residents that have a giving heart and volunteer for our fire department, not every department in Hill Country is as fortunate.  This is why ESD1  is asking all fire departments of Hill County to come together on February 9th and promote being a volunteer.

Maybe you would like to join our fire department!  Please come out to the firehouse to meet our firemen and enjoy a delicious brunch!
